Brad and Kristin

Brad and Kristin were married at Brady’s Run in Beaver Falls, PA. The weather was perfect for an afternoon outdoor wedding, which allowed me to get the light and bright photos I love so much. Their reception was fun and energetic – complete with a visuals screen and light up rods, which their guests loved!

Congrats, Brad and Kristin! You two were wonderful to work with!

Tate and Becky

Becky and Tate were married at the Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church and their reception was at Laube Hall in Freeport. Despite a flat tire on the way to the reception (which unbelievably happened right outside a place that repairs tires), it was a wonderful day filled with love, emotion, and lots of crazy dancing! Their reception was so much fun – and I was so impressed by their guests, who danced tirelessly along with the new Mr. and Mrs. well into the night .

Here’s a few of my favorites:

Robert and Rachele

Continuing with some more 2010 weddings…  Robert and Rachele were married at Heinz Chapel and their reception was at the PAA. From Rachele’s thoughtful decor (for instance, bridal photos of the women in her family on a table at the reception) to heartfelt speeches by people who love them, it was a beautiful day and extremely memorable.

Here’s a few of my favorites:

John and Kristen

I have sooo many weddings and shoots to blog! First up is John and Kristen’s beautiful wedding. They were married at First Baptist in Oakland and their reception was at Soldiers and Sailors. I knew from their Engagement Session that they were great to work with and their wedding was no exception. Kristen was absolutely stunning and they both exuded joy and contentment throughout the day.

Ladies, it might not be the first thing on your wedding to-do list, but choosing a well lit and spacious getting ready location should really be on there somewhere! Kristen chose the new Fairmont hotel in downtown Pittsburgh, and her suite was gorgeous! Huge windows and wide open spaces to work with, not to mention gorgeous decor, made for great getting ready photos!

Here’s a few of my favorites from their wedding:

One of Josh’s from the men’s holding room.

Love this one of Kristen cracking up. Either John or I had said something really funny. Since this is my blog, I’m going to say it was me.

Titus and Alyssa

Titus and Alyssa were married at the Chippewa Evangelical Free Church and their reception was at the gorgeous Stambaugh Auditorium in Youngstown. On the way to their reception, we made a stop at Alyssa’s parents beautiful property, where I was happy to find tall trees to filter the light next to a wide open field. Lovely.

I met Titus first through friends a few years ago, and then met Alyssa when I shot their Engagement Session last year. They are wonderful people who I’m honored to know and call friends, and it was clear that everyone at their wedding felt the same. Titus and Alyssa have such servant hearts and it was awesome to see all the love they give their friends and family poured back on them on their wedding day.

Here’s a few of my favorites:

Gregg and Kiera

Gregg and Kiera decided to forego the traditional first sighting of the bride at the ceremony in favor of having a First Look. Kiera’s mom helped her put the final touches on her hair and makeup, and then walked with her through the gardens of Phipps Conservatory and out the front doors, to the cheers of her friends and bridesmaids. Then Kiera crossed the lawn to where Gregg stood with his back turned, waiting for his cue. She stopped, holding back tears, as he turned to see his friend, his love, his bride. It was lovely and magical, and something I was honored to be there for and of course, to photograph.

The rest of their day was just as beautiful, filled with happy tears, moving speeches, and the people they love most in life. Oh and dancing – lots of dancing.

Here’s a few I particularly like:

Dominick and Dana

Dom and Dana were married at Duquesne University Chapel in Pittsburgh and their reception was at the Shadow Lakes Club in Aliquippa. I met them through Maura Mendicino – whose Senior Photos I shot a few years ago. If I haven’t said it before, I’ll say it now – I love referrals. I see it as such a compliment that someone loved their photos so much that they confidently recommend me to their friends and families. So Maura, thank you, dear – you’re wonderful!

Dominick, Dana, and both their families are the kind of people who bring you right in and make you feel so welcome. I greatly appreciate that quality. On a personal note – my Dad, who I dearly love, was in the hospital in Wisconsin on their wedding day. Since it wasn’t possible for me to be with him or my family, it was so nice to be around such warm and caring people. Dana’s dance with her father was so sweet and moving that it brought me to tears. I couldn’t help but think of my dad – who was much too far away – and how special he is to me. I’m happy to say he went home the very next day and he’s doing just fine now!

Dom and Dana’s wedding day was extremely warm, but both they and their wedding party stuck it out and we got some gorgeous photos! Here’s a few of my favorites –

Neil and Gina

These two lovely people were married at Heinz Chapel and their reception was at the University Club. They scheduled alot of time for photographs (which I love), so we were able to shoot in a few locations. Even though the locations were close by, the photos from each of them have a completely different look to them. Neil and Gina were open to all of my ideas and I love the result of all of those factors put together!

Neil and Gina, you two are wonderfully sweet and so easy to like. Even through the unexpected events of your wedding day, you handled everything with grace and through it all, you managed to find an even more special place in my heart. I wish you boatloads of happiness and many more days with the ones you love!

Josh and Jackie

Josh and Jackie were married at the Edgewood Club, where their reception was also held. After a few getting ready photos, Josh and I photographed their First Look at Mellon Park. We shot their wedding party photos there as well and then headed over to the club for their ceremony. I loved the strong emphasis on family throughout the ceremony. It was important to Josh and Jackie to honor their loved ones and to have them be an intricate part of their wedding day.

Sumer Schmitt of Simply Perfect Weddings (www.simplyperfectwedding.net) and her assistants did a wonderful job planning with Josh and Jackie ahead of time and then coordinating their day. If you’re getting married, I highly recommend giving her a call to assist you with your planning!

Here’s a few of my favorites:

This is my favorite one of Jackie. She was an absolutely beautiful bride!

Mike and Deanna

Mike and Deanna were married in the Renziehausen Rose Garden in McKeesport and their reception was at the LeMont on Mt. Washington. Despite the heat, the Rose Garden was a beautiful backdrop for their ceremony. We shot the majority of their photographs in the garden as well, and then headed up to Mt. Washington for their reception. Their LeMont reception was gorgeous – with light pouring in from the huge windows and a breathtaking view of the city.

Mike and Deanna were lovely to work with. There were three of us shooting this wedding – myself, Mary (a photographer from Ohio, who is also my new roommate), and Jaime (a former bride of mine who will be starting her own business with her friend Kelly – my third shooter for the Wright-Mytrysak wedding), and we all had a fabulous time with Mike, Deanna, and their friends and family!
